One day M-san told me, “S-kun works at an Apple store.” There’s a big Apple store in a shopping mall. My Irish friend also works there. He studies Japanese. However, he didn’t mention he had a Japanese colleague. I was wondering the reason.
The other day, I walked with Y-san. She told me, “S-kun works at this McDonald.”
McDonald? ????
I see.
S-kun told M-san, “I work at Mac.”

Eriko,
I found your blog by chance while looking for places to buy natto in Manchester for my friend. My name is Jamie and I come from Manchester, but I now live in Nagoya, Japan. It's very interesting reading about your experiences in Manchester and I find some of them very similar to my own in Japan but with the countries switched around.
I hope you have a good time in the UK!
Jamie
Hi Jamie,
Are you OK?
(I think this is a typical greeting in Manchester;)
I also hope you have a good time in Nagoya.
I'm ok.
エリコさんは元気ですか?
Do you know where one can buy natto in Manchester? My friend has just come back from Japan and wants to get some Japanese food.
Thanks...
はい、私も元気です。
I know some shops. Although all of them sell frozen natto. If you'd like to know detailed information on shops, please email me:
